COMPREHENSIVE SEXUALITY EDUCATION – in school or out of school
“Application now opens for Everyone !!”
- Background:
Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center, UNFPA APRO and YouthLEAD would like to call for concept or any other IEC materials related to CSE (Comprehensive Sexuality Education ) or Out of School CSE . The competition is open to all individuals or groups who are willing to share the design or concepts which will contribute to the following purpose.
2.Why It’s needed and purpose :
The CSE is not a new terminology as activists and organisation had been working together with government and other stakeholders to implement in countries. However there is a lack of understanding among many adolescents and young people, as well as parents and governments, of the content and benefits of CSE.
The challenge of improving support for CSE is how to to work with individuals, institutions and policy makers who may have limited knowledge on SRHR . Youth advocates often lack materials such as posters, briefs, and social media messages which can summarize the concepts of CSE in interesting and appealing ways.
Thus the purpose of the posters/ IEC/social media materials called for in this competition is to support increased understanding of CSE and to support advocacy by young people. The messages could be related to advocating for CSE as part of the main curriculum in schools, or calling for specific CSE in out of school settings, particularly for children and adolescents who need specially tailored CSE eg those who have disabilities, young key populations etc. The materials will also be used in future advocacy materials and publications related to CSE. Creators of the materials in this open competition will be acknowledged whenever the materials are disseminated.
