International Youth Day 2023 is celebrated with the theme, “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.” The theme focuses on the importance of equipping young people with the skills they need to contribute to a more sustainable future. To mark the importance of the day, Y-PEER Bhutan conducted a National Campaign whereby various Y-PEER networks around the country celebrated the day with utmost enthusiasm, to advocate and create awareness, and enhance meaningful engagement among the youth people of Bhutan, which has been highlighted with the our series #Celebratingyouth #ypeerbhutaniyd2023

Description: This year to mark International Youth Day, CTAS Y-Peer did a presentation and a role play on how we can make CTAS a green school with the help of green skills.
The presentation demonstrated what green skills mean? How to shape a green future for our youths and Youths as a key factor in promoting green skills. Furthermore, members shared how they can adopt zero waste from those 4 available courses in the school.
Addition to that the team presented and acted a Role play on Gender based Violence (GBV) based on:
1. Sexual violence
2. Physical Violence
3. Discrimination
4. Emotional violence.
Network: Sherubtse Y-Peer Network
Location: Trashigang
Description: Sherubtse’s Y-PEER unit marked International Youth Day with games and activities centred on themes like education, employment, mental health, and civic involvement. The program aimed to boost youth engagement, empowerment, and societal contributions, emphasizing the significance of investing in their development. International Youth Day, observed on August 12th annually, raises awareness about global youth challenges and potential, showcasing their energy, creativity, and resilience.

Location: Thimphu
Description: Y-Peer ABIN conducted a poster competition for International Youths Day among all the students (individually) /as a class of the college. The marking of the posters was done by the staff of ABIN excluding all the YPEER Core Members and the club mentor.
The posters were evaluated on the following criteria;
• Originality
• Use of diverse images and design
• Creative (no use of premium)
• Relevancy to the theme
The winners were offered cash prizes!

Description: Empowering Tomorrow: Reflecting on the Success of International Youth Day 2023
Activities held;
1. Open digital poster competition based on this year’s theme.
2. Tieing of ribbons amongst students to mark the day and create awareness of the significance of the day.
3. Engaging in discussions and collaborative activities with our Second-year club members highlighted the shared responsibility of tackling youth challenges.
Together, we celebrated the essence of today and the promise it holds for tomorrow.

Description: 12th August is designated as international youth Day. On the theme”Green skills for youth towards a sustainable world”. This is to ensure our youths how important and special they are in sustaining the world. Wisdom tree was placed to let students express their feelings and thoughts on Youth Day. They were also given a talk to create awareness of SRHR.
Youths are tomorrow’s leaders.
