Y-PEER Meet is an annual event organized by the Youth Center Division, Department of Youth and Sports, MoE for Y-PEER Bhutan members. As usual, the 4-day Meet is designed to facilitate the exchange of new knowledge, ideas and experiences amongst the Y-PEER members and discuss challenges for future improvement.
The 4-day Meet that started today at the Phuentsholing Middle Secondary School, Phuentsholing Thromde have 165 participants from 15 Regional Y-PEER Networks (Royal Thimphu College, Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, Paro College of Education, Norbuling Rigter College, College of Natural Resources, Khuruthang Technical Training Institute, College of Language and Culture Studies, College of Zorig Chusum/Trashi Yangtse, Rangjung Technical Training Institute, Chumey Technical Training Institute, College of Science and Technology, Gedu College of Business Studies, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College, Samtse College of Education and Sherubtse College).
The participants will discuss emerging youth concerns affecting the lives of young people and explore how they can make a difference as Y-PEER members. They shall also attend guest-lectures on SRHR and protection concerns, facilitated by professionals from relevant fields. On the final day, they shall develop their new action plan for the year 2020. Besides, the participants also have the opportunity to participate in recreational/educational activities to keep themselves meaningfully engaged after the program. This event is supported by UNFPA.
