Representing YPEERPakistan and YPEER Asia Pacific Center -Ypeer AP , Mr. Joshua Dilawar, National Coordinator of YPEER Pakistan, recently attended the 2023 Asia Pacific Learning Symposium on School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) and learners’ health and psychosocial well-being, where he not only participated in the Symposium but also spoke in a panel discussion entitled, “Embracing diversity and promoting inclusion in SRGBV programming,” where he emphasized the importance of ARTS and youth engagement in promoting diversity and inclusion to end #SRGBV.
As a representative of YPEER Pakistan, Mr. Dilawar shared the experience and knowledge on programming and policy advocacy on SRGBV, while also highlighting the significance of arts particularly theatre in promoting diversity and inclusion and to end SRGBV. We are proud to have Mr. Dilawar as a member of our organization, and we believe that his contribution in the Symposium will bring a positive change in our efforts towards ending SRGBV and creating a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment for all.
The Symposium aimed to facilitate experience-sharing on programming and policy-advocacy on SRGBV, promote new and emerging practical tools and resources to support education systems to advance their prevention and response approaches to SRGBV, strengthen knowledge of promising and transformative practices, promote recent evidence and research, and identify evidence gaps and opportunities. The event was jointly convened by UNGEI Secretariat and UNESCO, together with UNESCO Bangkok, Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO), UNFPA Asia-Pacific Regional Office (APRO), Safe to Learn, and Transform Education.
