Call for Applications: M4M x YWCA x Y-PEER Mental Health E-Course

YWCA and Y-PEER are pleased to announce the call for participants for the Mental Health E-Course, an online learning initiative aimed at strengthening young people’s understanding of mental health and equipping them with practical skills to promote mental well-being, provide safe peer support, and advocate for mental health within their communities.

The e-course aims to create an inclusive and youth-friendly learning space where participants can explore mental health issues, challenge stigma and misconceptions, and better understand the factors that influence young people’s mental well-being.

What Will You Learn?

Through seven interactive learning sessions, participants will explore:

  1. Introduction to Mental Health: Understanding mental health and the factors that influence our well-being.

  2. Understanding Mental Health Issues: Recognising common mental health challenges and understanding help-seeking.

  3. Gender and Mental Health: Exploring how gender norms, inequalities and discrimination affect mental well-being.

  4. Mental Health and SRHR: Understanding the connections between mental health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, relationships and bodily autonomy.

  5. Mental Health and Digital Spaces: Exploring social media, AI, cyberbullying and online safety.

  6. Self-Care and Peer Support: Building practical skills in coping, active listening, safe spaces and appropriate referrals.

  7. Mental Health Advocacy: Strengthening youth leadership and developing approaches to promote mental health awareness in communities.

Course Format

The e-course will be conducted online through Google Classroom, using a flexible, self-paced learning approach. Participants will engage with pre-recorded sessions, reading materials, interactive discussions, reflection activities and practical assignments. Opportunities for live interaction and peer learning may also be provided.

Who Can Apply?

The course is open to young people, peer educators, youth leaders, volunteers and advocates interested in mental health, SRHR and youth well-being. No prior professional knowledge of mental health is required.
