Call for Application for Y-PEER AP Regional Internship 9.0
Background
Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center is an organization based in Bangkok supporting youth networks, organizations and activists to promote Young People’s SRHR ( Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights) through Peer Education and other innovative approaches. Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center also works with more than 15 Y-PEER Asia Pacific Networks that are working in the region for more than 16 years.
Y-PEER Asia Pacific International Internship Program was launched in 2017 with the objective to involve young people at the grassroots level – to work more closely with Y-PEER Asia Pacific National Networks and other young people and organizations across the region. The internship program aims to increase young people’s knowledge and understanding of SRHR and youth empowerment. This year, Y-PEER International is looking to select 2 young people from across the region to be part of the internship program.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Be from a country within the Asia-Pacific region
- Be between the ages of 16–25 years
- Have an interest in SRHR, youth empowerment, advocacy, communications, peer education, or youth-led campaigns
- Be willing to work with young people from diverse backgrounds across the region
- Be able to commit at least 8 hours per week
- Have basic knowledge of online tools such as Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Canva, social media, or similar platforms
- Have basic understanding of SRHR, youth advocacy, or peer education. This is an added advantage, but not mandatory
Main area of works
Selected interns may support Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center in the following areas:
- Supporting regional campaigns related to SRHR, youth empowerment, gender equality, health, and human rights
- Assisting youth activists, youth networks, and youth-led organizations with campaigns and advocacy initiatives
- Supporting Y-PEER Asia Pacific’s social media, website, newsletters, and communication materials
- Supporting ICPD25, ICPD30, and related youth advocacy groups and initiatives
- Coordinating activities for International Days related to SRHR, young people, health, gender equality, and human rights
- Creating content, designs, write-ups, updates, and documentation for regional programs
- Engaging with Y-PEER National Networks and young people across Asia-Pacific
